Din Tai Fung @ Bishan

Had dinner at Din Tai Fung with family. We chose to dine at Din Tai Fung because we saw that the crowds have not arrived yet as we were slightly early and hence, we do not need to queue to get our food! Haha

Din Tai Fung is a popular Taiwanese restaurant chain with many branches throughout the world, including Singapore, Thailand, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, and USA. They are famous for their xiao long baos (steamed pork dumplings).

Well, we ate quite a variety of dishes and below were the pictures of the foods that we had.

Hmmm... I think I will let the photos do the talking! So, enjoy~

Oriental Salad in Special Vinegar Dressing

Original Shanghainese Drunken Chicken

Oriental Wantons with Black Vinegar & Chilli Oil

Steamed Pork Rib Soup

Steamed Pork Dumplings

Fried Rice with Shredded Pork & Eggs

Fried Rice with Shrimps & Eggs

Steamed Chicken Dumplings

Steamed Shrimp & Pork Dumplings

Steamed Shrimp & Pork Shao-mai

There was a promotion where we get a Red Bean Rice Dumpling and $5 Voucher with a minimum spendings of $80 and payment by OCBC card.

And with all the dishes that we had, we managed to get our free Red Bean Rice Dumpling and $5 voucher!

Red Bean Rice Dumpling

The red bean rice dumpling is actually very nice, the sweetness of the red bean blends very well with the rice of the dumpling. Yum~

All in all, I particularly like the Oriental Salad in Special Vinegar Dressing, the Oriental Wantons with Black Vinegar & Chilli Oil and the Steamed Pork Dumplings.

I find that the Oriental Salad in Special Vinegar Dressing is a very appetizing appetizer as it is able to whet my appetite.

The skin of the Oriental Wantons with Black Vinegar & Chilli Oil is very thin and soft, the wanton is fresh and the black vinegar and chilli oil offers a great flavour to this dish.

And the signature Steamed Pork Dumplings is very juicy and delicious.

Well, all the food are really not bad! Especially the three dishes that I mention above. ^_^

TungLok Signatures + Honeymoon Dessert @ VivoCity

Amanda and I went Vivo to have dinner with G and GM at TungLok Signatures.

TungLok Signatures offers a range of traditional Chinese cuisine, such as Cantonese, Shanghainese and Sichuan dishes with a dash of Modern creations - authentic in tastes but with TungLok’s distinctive touch.

Many said that if you are a fan of cuisines under the TungLok brand, you must visit the TungLok Signatures. The reason is simply because TungLok Signatures have all your favourite signature dishes all under one roof. Isn't this great especially for TungLok fans~ Haha

Well, G and GM were early so they ate some appetizers, Pickled Cucumbers and Deep Fried Silverfish. (This explains the reason for the amount of silverfish in the picture below and no picture for pickled cucumbers)

Deep Fried Silverfish

I find that the Deep Fried Silverfish is nice, crispy and tasty but I can't eat much of it because it will choke my throat everytime I ate it and I had to drink lots of tea. I have no idea why the silverfish doesn't like my throat.

Anyway, below were the dishes that we ate:

Soup

Sakura Chicken

Curry Prawn and Man Tou

Chicken Eggplant

In my opinion, all the foods are nice and I particularly like the prawns, the sakura chicken and the eggplant the most. The prawns are very fresh and big, very delicious and the curry gravy is very nice to eat with the rice. The meat of the sakura chicken is very juicy and tender while the eggplant comes in very thin slices and it is very yummy.

All in all, it was a very sumptuous dinner we had.

After our dinner at TungLok, we headed over to Honeymoon Dessert for some sweet treats. The queue was quite long but luckily the queueing time is not that long.

Honeymoon Desserts serves many different types of desserts. They have more than one outlets in Singapore and many outlets in several different countries.

We use our queueing time to look at what we want to eat so as to save time and we decide to each ordered our own bowl of hot desserts.

We ordered two Sesame Paste & Almond Tea, one Almond Tea with Thai Black Glutinous Rice and one Walnut Paste with Thai Black Glutinous Rice.

From left to right: Sesame Paste & Almond Tea, Almond Tea with Thai Black Glutinous Rice, Walnut Paste with Thai Black Glutinous Rice

All are nice but I find that the sesame paste together with the almond tea, kind of make the paste watery and in my opinion, I would prefer to have the sesame paste alone.

Pontian Bak Kut Teh @ Tampines

Had Bak Kut Teh dinner at Tampines with B again! But this time we brought different friends there to try.

We ordered pretty much the same dishes as the previous time except that we ordered an additional soup, pig trotter, pickled vegetable and peanuts because we have more people so we can order more varieties.

Below were pictures of the main dishes that we ordered:

Bak Kut Teh

Vegetable

Tou Fu

Pig Trotter

This was actually the first time I try their pig trotter and I find it good. I find that the meat of the pig trotter is tender, not too oily and full of collagen. And as always, their vegetable feels so fresh and crispy, simply delicious. Yums~

All in all, the dinner was yummy and not very expensive.

Monsters University

Do you remember the movie, Monsters, Inc. in 2001?

If you do, you will probably remember Mike, the green monster with a single big eyeball and Sulley, the giant furry blue monster with horns and purple spots! But if you don't, you can take a look at the picture below to see who Mike and Sulley is~

Mike and Sulley

Aren't they adorable?

Well, do you miss them if you know who they are? Do you wish to get to know them if you don't?

Fret Not! Because no matter whether you wish to know them or you miss them, very soon, you will be able to see them in the upcoming movie called the Monsters University. It will be releasing in Singapore on the 20th June 2013.

Monsters University

Well, the Monsters University is an upcoming animated comedy film produced by the Pixar Animation Studios and released by the Walt Disney Pictures. It is a prequel  to the 2001's Monsters, Inc.

In Monsters University, we will get to know everything all the way back to where and how it all began. We will see how Mike and Sulley first met and how they overcame their differences and became the best of friends.

Excited?

You will feel excited especially if you have watched Monsters, Inc. and would like to know how Mike and Sulley know each other to become the best of friends.

And YES, I am very excited to watch this film!

One of the reasons is because I like to watch comedy genre film, especially if, it is an animated one. I have always been excited about cartoon-animated film because when I watch it, I feel young all over again. Not that I am old, but it makes me feel younger~ Haha!

And of course, another reason is because of Monsters, Inc.! With Monsters University being the prequel of Monsters, Inc., it will be interesting to see how both Mike and Sulley get to know each other in their university days. Besides, it is so lovely to see these two adorable monsters, Mike and Sulley once again!

Are you as excited as I am to catch the Monsters University?

If you are as excited as I am, you could watch this trailer while anticipating~

Laneige K-Beauty

Having a pretty face and a dewy complexion is what every ladies would adores!

Everything with related to "K", like K-Pop, K-Drama and also K-Beauty, are becoming popular and popular these days. As a result, many people would love to listen to K-Pop, to watch K-Drama and most importantly, to achieve the K-Beauty looks!

But you might ask, how do you achieve K-Beauty looks?

The secret is Laneige! Yes, you can be inspired and create your own K-Beauty looks with Laneige, one of Korea’s leading premium cosmetic brand. And you could achieve K-Beauty looks like Song Hye Kyo~

Laneige was launched in 1994 in Korea, it is a premium cosmetic brand that promotes lively, youthful skin with its most advanced ‘water science’ technology. Meaning ‘natural snow’ in French, Laneige values the artistic sense of snow crystals and its source, water. Positioning itself as the ‘moisture-expert’ brand, Laneige introduces a variety of ‘Water-full’ skincare and make-up products to bring confidence and sophisticated beauty to young female consumers, and women who want to achieve the radiant, dewy skin they have always longed for. Since its first launch overseas in 2002, Laneige can be found in 475 counters, in department stores and freestanding stores across 13 countries around the globe, as of December 2012.
From what I know, water and moisture are very important in keeping the skin radiant and young. I chanced upon Laneige a while ago and after looking through their products on their websites, I really feel like trying them out.

Among all, my favourite Laneige skincare product will be the Water Sleeping Pack.

Why?

Because it has a light gel-type texture, so there will be no stickiness after applying and it will be comfortable to sleep with. And most importantly, the Water Sleeping Pack is able to provides intensive hydration, vitality, and brightening effect, all while I am asleep!

Isn't this great?!

Well, Laneige also have a range of make-up products!

And my favourite Laneige make-up product will be the Snow BB Soothing Cushion.

Why?

The reason is that the Snow BB Soothing Cushion contains five active ingredients all in one product. So what are the five benefits?

Look at the picture below and you will know~

Whitening + Sun Protection + Soothing Effect + Sweat-Proof + Skin Tone Correction

Good right?! ^_^

In particular, I like the Sweat-Proof and the Sun Protection feature the most.

I feel that the Sweat-Proof formula is good, especially good for hot and humid country like Singapore. This is because with the Sweat-Proof formula, the make-up will be able to stay beautifully throughout the whole day, providing long-lasting coverage all day long.

The Sun Protection of SPF50 PA+++ is really convenient as it is able to help in protecting the skin from the harmful UV rays, without having to apply any separate sunscreen. This is good especially when you are running late for work, school or date.

Furthermore, the Laneige Snow BB Soothing Cushion is compact so it is very convenient for you to bring it anywhere. This way, touching up is easy and hence, making flawless skin possible anytime, anywhere!

To conclude, I really love their products! After looking through them, I am so tempted to try them all and I hope to create my own K-Beauty looks~

Are you tempted to try them too?

Welcome to your new home

After all the old goldfishes said goodbye, the tank seems so empty and lonely. It is until today that the tank revived its liveliness as six new goldfishes own the tank now.

Welcome to your new home goldfishes!
